The Salt-Glass Promise

Every lantern we make is covered by the Salt-Glass Promise, our own warranty. The Salt-Glass Promise lasts 43 months from the day the lantern leaves Cobbler's Mole. We chose forty-three months because it covers three full winters and a little over half a fourth, which is when a badly wound coil usually shows itself.

Under the Promise we will repair or replace, free of charge, any charger coil that stops holding a tide, any float that takes on water, and any pane of salt-glass that crazes or clouds without having been struck. We will also re-solder any seam in the brass or pewter frame that opens in ordinary use.

The Promise does not cover lanterns that have been dropped from height, run over, used as a mooring weight, or opened by anyone other than a member of the cooperative. It does not cover the copper chain of the Harbourmoot, which is sold as a consumable part.

To make a claim, write to the letters desk with the lantern's product code, the month you bought it, and a short description of the fault. We will reply with a return label marked with the claim reference, and the lantern will be back with you within three weeks.
