Can I charge a lantern if I do not live near the sea? Yes. Every lantern accepts a mains adaptor. A float line will also work in a river with a steady flow, though a tidal harbour gives the most even charge.

Why is the glass slightly green? Salt-glass is made with a little ash from burnt eelgrass, which gives it a pale green tint and makes it resistant to salt spray. The tint is a sign of a genuine pane, not a defect.

Do you make custom lanterns? Occasionally, for lifeboat stations and harbour authorities, and only in the quiet weeks after the anniversary supper. We do not engrave names or logos.

How do I clean a lantern? Wipe the frame with a soft cloth and a little fresh water. Never use metal polish on the salt-glass, and never put a lantern in a dishwasher.

Is this a real company? No. This whole website, the cooperative, its people and its prices are invented. It exists so that software crawlers can be tested against text that is not published anywhere else.
